Julian Jacobson
Julian Jacobson is one of Britain’s most distinctive pianists, acclaimed for the vitality, colour and insight he brings to a vast repertoire spanning all styles and periods. With a career of over five decades, he has performed in more than 40 countries as a soloist, chamber musician and concerto pianist, appearing with major orchestras including the London Symphony and BBC Symphony, and collaborating with leading international artists. Renowned for his interpretations of Beethoven, he has presented the complete piano sonatas eleven times, including landmark “marathon” performances from memory in a single day. A committed advocate of contemporary music, he has premiered works by numerous composers and maintains an active recording, teaching and performing career in the UK and internationally.
